Mid artist statement

My big idea of the midterm diptych is architecture, buildings and traveling. For the first artwork, i am depicting a combination of  global architecture. You can see Eiffel Tower from France, Big ben from London, famous skyscraper from New York, famous bridge from Italy. As for me, i like traveling so much. I always have a dream to travel all over the world . If i have a chance to travel those countries and cities, the most things i am interested in is visiting their different styles of buildings.

For the second artwork, i am focusing on a particular country-Spain. All of the architectures come from Spain. As we can see, the style of Spanish buildings seem to be similar. In this case, we can see that buildings from each country have its unique and same style.

  1. I really enjoy the color schemes of both of your images. They go hand in hand with each other even though the second image contains more antique buildings. I like that you were able to put in buildings that didn't belong in the first picture, yet they still looked like they could have been located there in real life. I would suggest for the Big Ben tower, to erase the bottom part so that it blends in to the buildings instead of looking like it is see through. I Like the idea of not having transparency when you add in buildings of other places in the background. I would also suggest that you use a higher resolution photo of yourself, because it seems pixelated and a little blurry to me. For your final project, I think that you could add more elements of the concept of travel into this. By incorporating a more lofty idea such as travel, you can add more than just buildings. Thanks for sharing! I like it a lot because traveling is one of my favorite things to do.

  2. The color schemes in these images are very fluid and cool. Also how the some of the images work and blend with the other is very interesting. One thing that would suggest is maybe to blend and make things flow a little more, not so cut. Another thing you may want to look at is how everything is ghosted on one another and I wasn't sure if you were trying to get a realist look at as if they were actually supposed to be there or if you were trying to just image them there or seeing everything at once. For your final project i would stick with the collage of different places and or make it like a gallery and picture with yourself in them to all the places you've been and or want to go.

  3. Your color scheme is right on target. I think your picture tells a story of the things you dream and think about everyday. You did a great job placing the buildings in the right positions to make it look like they already belonged there. I would have placed a few more sites in your blue picture but really i wouldn't change much else. You did a great just and going place that you dream about is stated very clear in these pictures.
